Active Listening Is Active Leadership

Part of what separates human beings from all other creatures is that we have the highest ability to think, ‘If this … then this…’ It gives us greater power to reason and forecast over any other living thing. It also is the thing that keeps us from reaching our potential because it causes excessive worry and also keeps us from actually HEARING what people are trying to say in the moment because our minds are already firing off at a million miles an hour. Sponges don’t have this ability. When you are listening to people- be a sponge. You will be surprised at the level of talent and value you already have on your Team.
